help! stop online piracy act (SOPA) is bad!
if so, this directly affects YOU!
by signing below you are telling congress; dont censor the web!
https://www.google.com/landing/takeaction/
http://fightforthefuture.org/pipa/
(direct from google) Fighting online piracy is important. The most effective way to shut down pirate websites is through targeted legislation that cuts off their funding. There’s no need to make American social networks, blogs and search engines censor the Internet or undermine the existing laws that have enabled the Web to thrive, creating millions of U.S. jobs.
basically SOPA and PIPA will censor the internet, therefore censoring you, and me, my blog, your website, those youtube videos...
warning ~ ms M rant; undermining existing laws is EXACTLY how the auditing firm arthur anderson rose and fell in 1999. (taking my career with it - and i was one of the good guys). by politicians (senator lieberman) eroding the enforcing bodies (AICPA) with overriding legislations which completely diminished AICPA's organizational powers of responsibility, further allowing for corruption and unethical practices due to crazed checks and balances. basically we turned around and gave the power to assholes to took advantage. end result...scandals at tyco, enron, worldcom, global crossing.... get it?!
we the people need to learn the historical lesson.
we need to show Washington DC that they have lost our organizational and individual trust.
we need political leaders that are pro-internet.
we need to stop allowing government to further erode existing laws and legal bodies.
(another M rant as) now my mind goes to the banks, the bailouts, the changed and changed again legislation, the fact that history repeats with (check it) stuff like the apparently forgotten bank collapse of the great depression (what year is this again?), furthering my anger...and furthering my examples...grrr! fuck! come on people! we've got to get wise to these f'ers!
we need organizational responsibility. we need governmental responsibility.
we do NOT need excess legislation.
we do NOT need to support or follow those that clearly do not have technical competence to lead.
we do NOT want the government taking away our individual rights to protect our own content.
we do NOT support censorship.
wikipedia has gone dark today in support of stopping sopa. and i will too.
too much is at stake – please click the links and sign the petition. please vote NO on PIPA and SOPA! or else...
